w6sfm 80m tuesday night net

Join us every Tuesday night for the W6SFM 80M Net on 3.545MHz. 

Check-ins begin at 7:30 PM PT at +/- 15WPM. 

When the Net first begins, the Net Control Operator (NCO) will announce the start of the Net and will then send "QNI" which is an ARRL QN-signal (used for CW/digital nets only) which means "Net stations report in."  

To check in to the Net, you just send your Call Sign and wait to be called. 

The NCO will acknowledge the stations copied by sending their respective Call suffices (for example "WB6UBK" would be acknowledged as simply "UBK".) If you don't hear your call, then wait for the next "QNI" announcement during the Net. (Sometimes there are illegible stations calling simultaneously and all are not heard during the first round of "QNI".)

Next, wait until the NCO calls your station and then answer up and have a conversation. Keep in mind rag chewing is fine on this Net.

Be mindful that stations are not always called in the same order that they checked-in for various reasons. Sometimes this is because of propagation and/or other communications issues. But don't worry, if you check-in successfully, your station will be called during the Net.

Also, in an effort to include as many up-and-coming stations as possible, the Net will start out at +/-15 WPM. This is to encourage all CW operators to participate in the Net.

We welcome all licensed CW operators, so you don’t need to be a member of W6SFM to participate.
